In honoring the Hopi Foundation’s goal to strengthen community through collaborative actions, the Capacity Building program works with local nonprofits, tribal organizations, villages, the philanthropic sector and external stakeholders to accomplish the task of resource development. This aspect of The Hopi Foundation includes development and services in the areas of:

Consensus Building & Strengthening Infrastructure
Creating an environment to support positive change and decision making is important in moving missions’ toward a greater vision on behalf of the community you serve. These sessions include tools and training in the areas of:
Asset Mapping
Account for your organizational assets and determine what resources are available that your organization hasn’t tapped into. Assets can be comprised of financial, equipment, institutional, environmental, people, cultural, legal, sovereign powers, etc.
Developing or Revisiting Vision & Guiding Principles
Creating with your organization and stakeholders an understanding around a shared vision along with principles that guide your work.
Hopi Community Decision Making Model
A tool that helps your board & staff develop a perspective of identifying who your organization is in a relationship with and how these relationships impact one another based on the function of each system or sector within the community.
Assessing & Leveraging Resources
Engage your board & staff in utilizing tools that help in leveraging time, commitment and investment in resources.
Marketing, Communication, and Outreach Facilitate staff & board in developing ways to engage community members, build stronger relationship locally and externally, and build transparent organizational systems internally that support efficiency.

Strategic Planning & Fundraising
Organized facilitation and knowledge sharing with best practices that assist with achieving long-term sustainability and effectiveness of services provided. Research and tools are providing to support organizational growth in the following areas:
Strategic Planning: A strategic review of your program, department or organization that includes pre‐assessment interviews and two‐day strategic planning work‐sessions to look at organizational growth, challenges and strategic goal setting.
Fundraising 101 Training: A general introduction to nonprofit fundraising including facilitate discussions to assess your organization’s needs, current assets and revenue projections for multi-year development to determine capacity/strategy to fund raise.

Our Fees
Our fees for service training is tailored to every organization based on identified priority areas defined by meetings with key stakeholders as a pre-assessment phase prior to the delivery of training and facilitation. Our staff will take time to identify the best approach in being of service to further our goal of strengthening community through the delivery of capacity building services.
