The Hopi Foundation
Kwa'kwai~Asquali~Kuna'ah~Thank You for choosing to support our Hopi community!
For over 34 years we have been encouraging and restoring a culture of self-sufficiency and proactive community participation through our mission of Helping People Help Themselves. The Hopi name Lomasumi'nangwtukwsiwmani, signifies the process of furthering unity of aspiration blossoming into full maturity over time.
We believe in attending to the community in which we live and in the skills of our people. The Foundation serves a population of 12,000 Hopi across twelve villages on the Hopi Reservation and other Indian tribes and indigenous societies.
The Hopi Foundation supports local grassroots community initiatives through sponsorship with the intent of growing capacity so that one day the programs can stand on their own.
"A Hopi… is one who places the society’s and/or community’s interests and benefits ahead of individual and personal interests and gains; is one who understands that to realize a dream, one must not only pray for his or her desires but must make a sincere commitment and work diligently to pursue the dream or goal until it is achieved; is one who understands that the creator has provided all the necessary resources needed by all living beings to co-exist here, including the means by which the human race can achieve a happy, healthy and self-sustaining life..." (from Traditional Values & Visions of A Hopi)
